A Marshal waiting for death

Posthumous tribute to the human and heroic act of Antônio Ferreira da Silva, a 70-year-old man known as the Marshal, murdered while hiding a policeman, behind a freezer, in order not to be killed by traffickers, in the favela of Rocinha, in the city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

English version of the Portuguese poem “Um Marechal a espera da morte”, published by virtue of which it was edited, hindering direct translations, with the objective of preserving the intellectual property governed by the law of copyright, 9,610 / 98, last version in adhesion to the Stockholm treaty.
